چکیده
A depth-averaged non-hydrostatic model is formulated to investigate wave evolution on a water channel with submerged trapezoidal breakwater. This an extension of nonlinear shallow equations that includes hydrodynamic pressure and vertical velocity. In the momentum equation, diffusion term also considered represent turbulence effects in system. The are solved numerically using combination staggered finite volume method predictor–corrector procedure. Comparisons made against three independent laboratory experiments propagation over breakwaters. level agreement higher than Boussinesq-type RANS models. numerical scheme used study effect height, length, coefficient breakwater propagation. We have found those characteristics affect similarly by smoothing shape significantly reducing transmitted amplitude.

Numerical Study on Tsunami Hazard Mitigation Using a Submerged Breakwater
Most coastal structures have been built in surf zones to protect coastal areas. In general, the transformation of waves in the surf zone is quite complicated and numerous hazards to coastal communities may be associated with such phenomena. Therefore, the behavior of waves in the surf zone should be carefully analyzed and predicted. Furthermore, an accurate analysis of deformed waves around coa...
متن کاملAdaptive dual boundary element method for solving oblique incident wave passing a submerged breakwater
In this paper, an adaptive mesh scheme in boundary element computations for solving the propagation of oblique incident wave passing a breakwater is developed. The purpose is to demonstrate cost savings engendered through adaptivity. The computation is performed on meshes of constant boundary elements, and are adapted to the solution by locally changing element sizes (h-version). Two error indi...
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Solitary Wave Induced Flow Motion around a Permeable Submerged Breakwater
This paper presents a numerical model for the simulation of solitary wave transformation around a permeable submerged breakwater. The wave-structure interaction is obtained by solving the Volume-Averaged Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes governing equations VARANS and volume of fluid VOF theory. This model is applied to understand the effects of porosity, equivalent mean diameter of porous media,...

In this paper wave transformation in a submerged sloped breakwater and its hydraulic performance was simulated by developing a numerical model in Fortran. The code was established by combining porous flow and a two-phase model using VOF method. Modified Navier-Stokes and k-ε equations implemented to the model to simulate the flow in porous media. Cut cell method was modified to simulate...
متن کاملA Non-Sinusoidal Reference Wave for Pwm Ac Drives
In this paper we propose a suitable reference wave for Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) AC Drives. Staircase reference waves whose levels are calculated to eliminate certain harmonics are studied and a certain staircase reference waveform with L levels is constructed. When L is made very large in limit, this staircase waveform approaches a continuous one which is called Quasine (Quasi + Sine). This...
